Let’s Pray

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing, yes, I will sing praises [to You]! ~ Psalm 57:7.

Lord, I adore You. I’m so honored to be Your daughter, Your beloved, and Your servant — such an honor! Create in me a steadfast heart, O Lord — immovable in the work of my hands and heart.

Some days I’m just plain tired. And distracted. And yes, even discouraged.

But You know these things even before I voice them to You. I suppose it’s part of the human condition. But Lord, we are in this world, and not of it.

I ask for the wings of eagles to rise above the fray. Lift me up onto the Rock that is higher than I — high into the heavenly places where I can feel Your breath upon my face.

Place my feet in Your footprints that I might walk with a steadfast heart in the path You have set before me. Not wavering. Not giving into attitudes and circumstances.

As I take Your hand and climb these steep mountains, remind me that You are with me always.

Remind me that anything I do as unto You will bear fruit for Your kingdom — that each heart Your message touches is precious.

Give me that vision, Lord — the vision of Your hurting world, people who need You. Strengthen me to take Your Word to those around me with authentic faith and an immovable, steadfast heart.

To be steadfast is to be “resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.”

Our prayers are powerful. Conversations with God change us and the world around us. Pastor Louie Giglio once said, “If we only knew what was happening when we pray, we would never cease to pray.”

We won’t know the full extent of how our prayers are answered on this side of eternity. But one day, we will. So don’t give up. Keep praying. Keep watching. And celebrate as you see God at work around you.
