Powerful MFM Prayer Points For Fathers

TOPIC: Happy Fathers’ Day (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 16 June 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Nehemiah 4-6; Acts 2:22-47

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 6:6-9

MEMORY VERSE: “Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise.” –Ephesians 6:2

The MESSAGE:

God sends fathers into our lives and we must learn to recognise them. There are biological fathers, spiritual fathers, career fathers. Your biological father is your natural father who together with your mother gave birth to you. Your spiritual father is the man God has placed over you as your pastor. The CEO of the company you work for is your career father. You must not fight any of these fathers. You are to respect and honour them and all will be well with you.

Who is a father? A father produces children. He prays that God provides for His Children and protects them from evil. A father’s main purpose in life is to provide for His children and for his family such things as finances, protection, instruction, correction, direction. A father is a provider. In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus said, “Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name… Give us this day our daily bread.” Our spiritual Father is a provider and a giver. The Bible says that a man that does not provide for his household is worse than an infidel… (1 Timothy 5:8).

A father has a lot of patience. A lot of patience produces many children. In 1 Kings 19:15-16, we see the patience of a father in the relationship of Elijah and his spiritual son Elisha. When Elijah was about to go. Elisha kept following him and he told Elisha to go back. Elisha did not, yet Elijah did not get angry with him.

In addition, a father has a mega heart of forgiveness. The father of the prodigal son forgave his son. True fathers are forgiving.

Many Christians do not have spiritual fathers. This is wrong. Don’t be an orphan. An orphan’s life is often limited. A child without a father will not go far.

Some fight their natural fathers with their words and attitudes. Some also fight their spiritual fathers. These are wrong steps. Those who fight, disobey and dishonour their natural and spiritual fathers will lose blessings and will not live long. That is the verdict of the Bible. So, you should avoid it. Also, don’t make the mistake of receiving a father as a mentor, an instructor or a teacher. Your father (natural or spiritual) is more valuable than that. God is our Father (Matthew 23:9). Happy Fathers’ day.
