Powerful Prayer For Dedication And Consecration

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, do it unto the Lord with all of your heart, knowing that you will get your reward from God and not from man.
The first rule in establishing the power of the prayer of consecration an dedication, is to fully surrender our lives over to God.  Corinthians 6:19-20 says .. Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received (as a Gift) from God?  You are not your own, you were bought with a price (purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own).  So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.
God owns us but He will not impose Himself upon His.  He will nudge us, He will prompt us, He will convict us, He will speak to us, etc.  But, He will not force us to make choices nor will He force us to honor Him.  It is up to us, as individuals, to make the decision to honor God and to bring glory to Him.  And when we do make the decision to honor Him and to bring Him glory, it is only through Him that we are able to maintain this choice and surrender our lives to Him on a continual basis.  Therefore, it is essential to our Christian faith and our choice to surrender, that we continually pray for direction .. And we pray for guidance .. And we pray for Him to help us please Him, in honor and in glory.  This is the power of the prayer of consecration and dedication .. That we fulfill daily, the call He has placed on our life.  That we are living for Him and in Him and through Him, on a continual basis.  Not just on Sundays.  Not just on Wednesday evenings.  But all the time.  At home, at work, at school, and at play.  We are mindful of Him and aware of the truth that He is watching us and He is tuned in to our hearts and minds, knowing our intentions and our motives and our reasonings.  And we are trusting Him to guide us and direct us and correct us.  Knowing, He desires our very thoughts to be on Him and what He has said to be truth.
Therefore, our minds must be pleasing to Him, our hearts must be pleasing to Him and our actions must please Him.  And this happens, when we surrender continually.  When we pray for Him to intervene and to guide and to strengthen and to direct and to convict and to mold us into His image.  This can be a painful process, yet it will reap glorious benefits.  You know, many times with the devil, he presents to us a pretty package that will eventually turn quite ugly.  I find that God does things differently.  Many times God will present us with packages that may not seem all that attractive, but will eventually turn into something beautiful. Life will be rewarding, fulfilling, and beautiful when we practice the prayers of consecration and dedication.
