Powerful Prayer Points For Spirit Man
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe…” – Ephesians 1:17-19
There are many things we as believers can pray about. We can begin praying by focusing on the areas of greatest need or the areas which we feel most passionate about. Any prayer is better than not praying, but we want to avoid the human trap of praying with our own strength. Instead, believers should seek a “spirit of wisdom and revelation” (Ephesians 1:17) so they know God’s prayer strategy in a situation. Just as a great general has a specific strategy to win a battle, God has a specific strategy to bring His outcome on earth.
One example of a believer who prayed in accord with a spirit of wisdom and revelation is Simeon, the priest in the New Testament who dedicated the infant Jesus:
“Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was a righteous and devout, He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on Him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts…” – Luke 2:25-27
Several attributes of Simeon’s life shows us what it means to intercede according to a Spirit of wisdom and revelation.
“The Holy Spirit was on him” – Simeon spent time in worship and the presence of God.
“It had been revealed to him” – Simeon was actively pursuing revelation from God and taking it to prayer.
“Moved by the Spirit, he went…” – Simeon responded when led by the Holy Spirit and was ready to obey.
As we continue to fervently pray for our nation over the next few weeks, let us spend today asking for a spirit of wisdom and revelation. After today’s prayer, you should pay special attention to anything God speaks to you during prayer, throughout the day, in a divine dream or through a godly friend. God’s special leading will always complement and be confirmed by Scripture.
God will begin speaking to us to reveal His strategy for victory as we pray for our nation. Be listening!
Prayer Points:
Ask God to give you a “spirit of wisdom and revelation.”
Spend time in silence and solitude listening to God and note any special leading you sense as you pray.
Ask God to speak to you however He wills. Many believers specifically pray each evening for dreams from the Holy Spirit.
Pray for governmental leaders to have dreams from God like those described in the Bible during the times of Joseph and Daniel.
