Powerful Prayer Points For Prophets
1Kings 18: 41- 46
We are all familiar with this story. In 1Kings 17: 1 Elijah had prophesied that it will not rain except at his word.
According to Luke 4: 25 and James 5: 17, that was for a period of three years and six months. What Elijah said would come to pass had happened. Now Elijah was telling the king to prepare for he could hear the sound of abundance of rain. Ahab did as he was instructed, he went up to eat and to drink.
What is prophecy? It is God’s revelation of the future.
Amos 3: 7
Surely the LORD GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
How can we enforce prophecy?
BELIEVE GOD
2 Chronicles 20: 20b
Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Our God is the Alpha and Omega. He knows the end from the beginning.
Acts 15: 8
And God, which knoweth the hearts, beareth them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us.
In Gen 18: 13 – The Lord said unto Abraham, why did Sarah laugh? Don’t forget that in Gen 18: 12 Sarah laughed within herself.
Ps 33: 8- 9
V9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
No matter how unbelievable once God speaks it is done.
In 1984, the G.O. was trusting God for Boys Quarter in Mushin. God then said to him, son I have decided to build you a city.
Num 23: 19 God is not a man that he should lie.
BELIEVE HIS PROPHETS
Ahab immediately acted on what Elijah said. God backs up the word of his true prophets.
1Sam 3: 19
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
GOD IS SOVEREIGN. He can do what he likes.
Psalm 115: 3
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
God has the right to change his mind.
Ezekiel 33: 13 – 16
For instance if the wicked repents he can forgive and save him from the punishment he deserves.
V15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in his statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Isaiah 38: 1- 8
Hezekiah was sick unto death. God sent Isaiah to him to put his house in order for he was going to die.
V2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD.
God told the same prophet to go back and tell him, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears, behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
In Jonah 1: 2 God told Jonah to go and cry against Nineveh. He was reluctant to go because he knew the nature of God.
Jonah 3: 4- 10 Nineveh was to be destroyed in 40 days but the people repented and proclaimed a fast and God decided to let them off from the prophesied punishment.
G.O. told us about the case of papa Okeowo. A prominent man who moved to camp two weeks before his 84th birthday. He said he came to die in camp.
He said to G.O. I met a prophet 40 years ago who told me everything about myself. How many wives I will have, how many children etc. he also told him he would die at 84 years. He said everything had happened as the man told him. G.O. asked him whether he would not like to stay longer to enjoy his new found faith, his grandchildren etc. he said yes but this prophet was too accurate.
The G.O. cancelled the curse. When papa was almost 100 years old, he sent for the G.O. and said release me, I am ready to go.
I speak into your lives, you shall live and not die in Jesus name.
How do you ensure your own good prophecy/cies are not changed?
Honour God
1Sam 2: 30 God changed his mind on Eli
V3 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me forever: but now the LORD siath, be it far from me; for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despite me shall be lightly esteemed.
How can you honour God?
Prov 3: 4- 10
V9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase:
V10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Malachi 3: 8- 11 Don’t rob God.
Anyone who is not giving to God what belongs to him is robbing God and is under a curse.
V8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Make God happy
How? By winning souls.
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. There is a party in heaven over those who gave their lives to Jesus.
Psalm 37: 4
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
When you make God happy he can change death to life and curses to blessings.
Learn to fast. In our main text Ahab went to eat, Elijah kept on praying and fasting.
In Matt 17, the disciples could not cast out the devil in the lunatic child. The disciples wanted to know from Jesus why they could not cast out the demon.
Answer
Luke 17: 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
There are many advantages of fasting including health reasons.
Paul talks about some people whose God is their belly in Philippians 3: 19. Fasting brings fulfillment of prophecy.
Elijah kept on praying until the prophecy came to pass
1Thess 5: 17 – pray without ceasing.
John 16: 24 – Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Make sure you are not distracted
Just focus on what you want from God. Don’t let others control your behavior.
Psalm 34: 1- 4 David was focused on God. I don’t know about others but I will bless the LORD at all times.
Psalm 108:1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
Joshua 24: 15 Joshua said
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye shall dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
If you do all the above, you will soon notice that what was just a sound will soon become a reality. When you are in the market, you focus on the fellow you are trading with and not the noise of the market.
I pray that all the good prophecies concerning you shall come to pass in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS
Father God, let it be unto me according to your promises over my life in Jesus name.
I reject every evil prophecy and all negative confessions over my life in Jesus name.
Father in your mercy turn curses over my life into blessings in Jesus name.
I confess I shall live and not die to declare the works of the LORD in Jesus name
I decree that my belly shall not be my God in Jesus name.
I receive divine enablement to fast and pray for divine intervention in Jesus name.
As the LORD liveth this shall be my year of pleasant surprises, year of remembrance and of the manifestation Of God’s glory in Jesus name.
Father please forgive my sin of robbing you. Please rebuke devourers for my sake.
Please in your mercy seal every hole in my pocket and restore my prosperity in Jesus name.
Father please forgive my sin of not fulfilling the vows, pledges and promises I have made to you and others in your name. In your mercy please withhold your angels of destruction from destroying the works of my hands in Jesus name.
I decree that every evil that has been programmed or prophesied into my future shall not come to pass in Jesus name.
I cover every tongue that speaks against me in judgement with the blood of Jesus.
I cancel all curses, all enchantments, all hexes and all spells against my life in Jesus name.
